Watch live as Japan’s Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako honor thousands of Japanese prisoners of World War II who were held under harsh conditions in Mongolia. The Soviet Union had declared war on Japan in 1945, taking most of about 575,000 Japanese POWs to Siberia.
