State Department principal deputy spokesperson Thomas Pigott holds a briefing after the United States presented Lebanon with a proposal to disarm Hezbollah by the end of the year, end Israel’s military operations in the country, and withdraw Israeli troops from five positions in south Lebanon, according to copy of a Lebanese cabinet agenda reviewed by Reuters.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also said Israel intends to take military control of all of Gaza, despite intensifying criticism at home and abroad over the devastating almost 2-year-old war in the Palestinian enclave.
