From Global News.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is scheduled to hold a press conference Friday afternoon, one day after a "productive" phone conversation with Donald Trump, as the effects from the U.S. president’s trade war continue to mount.
“The leaders discussed current trade challenges, opportunities, and shared priorities in a new economic and security relationship between Canada and the U.S.,” a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said.
Carney is expected to address the recently imposed steep tariffs on Canadian canola products by China.
Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe called on the Liberal leader Thursday to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping to resolve the nations’ current trade issues.
