After over a month of campaigning, Canadians have had their say – with Global News projecting that Liberal Leader Mark Carney will form the next government.

In a speech to supporters Monday, Carney said the Liberal victory comes at a “hinge moment” in history and the threat from U.S. President Donald Trump will be his top priority as he takes office.

The outcome marked a massive change in Canadian public opinion as Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre had just months before been expected to lead his party to victory.
