Mark Carney triggered Canada’s 45th general election in Ottawa on Sunday. Carney asked the governor general to dissolve parliament and send Canadians to the polls on April 28.

Carney is “clearly moving the party towards the centre — so right of where they were — they’ve moved quite far left,” says Mercedes Stephenson, the host of ‘The West Block.’

Stephenson says all the party leaders will be “spreading out, quickly, across the country to campaign in areas they believe are key for them to shore up.”
