Mediterranean monk seal nursed back to health in Greece and released into the wild

Populations of the rare marine mammals, with their big, round eyes and prominent whiskers, had dwindled so dramatically that the species at one point faced extinction. But now thanks to conservation efforts they are enjoying a remarkable comeback. Nearly half of their estimated global population of 800 live in Greek waters.
