A 45-year-old Montreal man has been charged with murder after his nine-year-old daughter’s body was found in Upstate New York on Sunday following an Amber Alert, according to New York State Police.

A news release from New York State Police says officers from the Warren County Sheriff’s office received a call from Frattolin, reporting his daughter missing in Lake George, possibly due to an abduction, on Saturday just before 10 p.m.

In a press conference on Monday, New York state police said that preliminary investigation revealed the child was murdered by her father and the body was left in a remote area where she was later discovered by law enforcement officers.

Frattolin has been charged with murder and concealment of human corpse, the police added.
