More than 150 killed in flooding in Nigeria | DW News

From DW News.

More than 150 people have been killed in Nigeria, after torrential rain submerged Mokwa, a market town in the north.

Residents were trying to clear away muddy debris after the rains subsided. Over three thousand people were forced to leave their homes when the flood waters rose to roof height following rains which started on Thursday. The floodwaters washed away roads and bridges. Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu said the army will help with the emergency response.
