PBS News Communities Correspondent Gabrielle Hays caught up with the stars at the Nelly’s annual Black & White Ball in St. Louis.

The Nelly Black & White Ball is an annual event where the three-time Grammy Award winner and St. Louis native gives away full ride scholarships to some students of the city’s historically Black university and donates to the Make a Wish Foundation. Each year, the event draws some of the biggest artists and change-makers to the midwest for a night of philanthropy and music.
