Nanaimo city employee stabbed “a lot” with syringes in public washroom

From Global News.

A City of Nanaimo, B.C. employee is recovering after being stabbed several times with syringes in a park on Tuesday morning.

The 58-year-old man went into the public washroom at Maffeo-Sutton Park in downtown Nanaimo when he saw two men reportedly using drugs, police say. When he asked them to move along, he was attacked and stabbed with syringes.

The worker suffered wounds to his face and abdomen, police said.

As Kylie Stanton reports, the attack is renewing concerns about public safety.
