Charles Collins began his green gardening business in 2020 when a massive drought hit Arizona and no one was able to grow any plants. During this challenging time, he came up with the idea to start a hydroponic garden in his backyard in order to get his plants to thrive during the devastating weather. He began documenting his experience on YouTube, and it quickly grabbed viewers attention—including companies such as Panagraphic.
Today, Charles’ videos have millions of views on YouTube, and he generates close to $10K per month from sponsorships, endorsements, consultations, and system designs. Charles is now a leading voice and advocate for setting up sustainable gardens, and he works with different countries in similar climates to teach them how to grow food sustainability.
Despite not growing up in the best area in Upstate New York, Charles was influenced by his grandmother’s garden, taking trips to the library, and his sense of community. Charles believes that we can encourage and uplift people from all facets of life, which the process of sustainable gardening also promotes.
