Petty Officer Second Class Gregory Applin died after his boat overturned in Halifax’s Bedford Basin on the night of Jan. 24, according to the Royal Canadian Navy. The 38-year old of HMCS Montreal was a weapons engineering technician who had served with the navy for 19 years. Heidi Petracek reports on the events that led to Applin’s death, and the questions that remain.
