Bryan Kohberger woke up in a state prison cell for the first time Thursday following his life sentence. The Idaho Maximum Security Institution is isolated in the desert, surrounded by a double perimeter fence reinforced with razor wire. Just released police files revealed Xana Kernodle was stabbed 50 times. Kaylee Goncalves and Maddie Mogen were each stabbed over 20 times. Unlike the others, Goncalves was also beaten with "severe facial injuries."
