NTSB investigators reveal that the Mexican naval ship struck the Brooklyn Bridge less than five minutes after the vessel left and was intending to sail south down the East River and out to sea — but officials say the ship quickly started speeding up in reverse. Officials say the ship’s captain may have lost control due to mechanical issues. NBC’s Emilie Ikeda reports for TODAY.
