Nina Kuscsik, Trailblazing Marathon Runner, Dies at 86

Nina Kuscsik, the pioneering athlete who fought for and achieved equality for women in long distance running, has died at 86. In 1969, race officials didn’t think women could run long distances so Kuscik snuck into the Boston Marathon and ran without a bib or an official entry, opening the door that helped shape the sport for decades to come.
