Nova Scotia wildfires: Tip lines flooded as $25k reward offered for anyone seen entering wooded area

From Global News.

With still no rainfall in sight, Nova Scotia remains on high alert for wildfires. As such, sweeping restrictions are in place to keep people out of the woods along with a provincial burn-ban.

The Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources has a tip line in place for reporting violations and wildfires. “Particularly in the last 24 to 48 hours, call volume has been very, very high,” says Scott Tingley.

Nova Scotia has instituted a $25,000 fine for those who violate its restrictions which include no hiking, camping, fishing or use of vehicles in the woods. Trail systems through woods are off limits and camping is restricted to only camp grounds.
