NYPD officers lined the streets in New York City on Monday evening to participate in the transfer of the body of Didarul Islam, an officer who was killed during a mass shooting at a Midtown Manhattan office building.

Islam, 36, was an off-duty New York City police officer assigned to a Bronx precinct, New York City Mayor Eric Adams said.

A Bangladeshi immigrant who joined the NYPD four years ago, Islam is survived by his wife, who is eight months pregnant, and two young sons.
