A portion of Ontario’s Highway 11 was closed in both directions Friday after a large crash involving multiple vehicles left one person dead and 11 people injured.

The crash happened as the area was under a snow squall warning.
A news release from the Ontario Provincial Police said a 49-year-old from Brampton, Ont., was killed and while those hurt were taken to hospital with “various injuries."
