Miles Taylor, former DHS chief of staff turned whistleblower in the first Trump administration, says even he’s surprised by the “breakneck pace” at which democracy is being dismantled in the name of revenge. Taylor says what worries him most is what Trump hasn’t done yet. The founders warned about the dangers of revenge, and "here we are–we’re living it,” says Taylor. Regardless of the truth behind the Justice Department’s accusations against Trump’s foes, Taylor stresses that’s not the point of Trump’s revenge spree: “The process is the punishment.”
