Turkish police have arrested over 340 people after a third consecutive night of protests against the arrest of Istanbul’s mayor Ekrem Imamoglu. Mayor Imamoglu, who is President Erdogan’s main political rival, was arrested on March 19 on charges of ‘corruption’. He is due to appear before prosecutors on ‘terror’ charges, as authorities accuse him of aiding the banned Kurdish PKK militia group.
