Correction: A graphic at the end of the segment on deportations suggested that U.S. citizens of Japanese descent were incarcerated during World War II under the Alien Enemies Act. In fact, the Alien Enemies Act only applies to noncitizens. Citizens were interned using separate authorities. We regret the error.
