Amid a rising humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where the globally-recognized Integrated Food Security Phase Classification platform has found that famine thresholds have been reached in Gaza, driving hunger-related deaths. Amid this backdrop, U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff went to southern Gaza late this week and toured one of the food distribution cites run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, which are controlled by the Israeli military.
