PBS News Weekly: How markets are reacting to Trump’s trade war | April 11, 2025

From PBS NewsHour.

U.S. markets went on a rollercoaster this week in reaction to Trump’s trade wars. President Trump paused his planned reciprocal tariffs on more than 70 countries, but ramped them up on China. Beijing, in response, increased tariffs on U.S. products, speaking out against what they called a policy of “economic bullying” that they vowed to "fight to the end."
PBS News Weekly takes a look at what this trade war means for Americans and the wider global economy and how Trump’s immigration policies are playing out in the United States.
