From AFP News Agency.
People gather for a third day in Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, to protest against legal changes that remove the independence of key anti-corruption bodies. The law places the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) under the direct authority of the prosecutor general, who is appointed by the president. Backtracking under pressure from both protesters and the EU, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he had approved a draft bill that guarantees the freedom of the anti-corruption bodies.
