Philippines ex-president Duterte appears at court in the Hague after arrest

The former president of the Philippines showed little emotion as he appeared via video link at the International Criminal Court in the Hague.

Rodgrigo Duterte was arrested in Manila this week on murder charges for leading a war on drugs that led to tens of thousands of deaths.

Duterte’s critics are calling his arrest the first step on the long path to justice.
