From Global News.
Peaceful protests for higher pensions in Buenos Aires turned violent Wednesday as fans from various soccer clubs stepped in to show their support for demonstrating retirees.
As disturbances to anti-blockade protocols began outside Argentina’s congress, authorities used crowd-control weapons – including water cannons, pepper spray and riot shields – to disperse unruly participants.
Footage captured protestors fighting with officers, throwing objects at them and setting fire to dumpsters and other objects throughout the streets.
Protests have been going on for weeks against austerity measures implemented by Argentinian President Javier Milei.
