Last autumn, euphoria swept through Poland: Donald Tusk had won the parliamentary election, unseating the right-wing populist government after eight years. Poland showed what was possible – a shift away from nationalism to a more progressive society. But now, populist candidate Karol Nawrocki is changing that. After a surprise win in the presidential election, Nawrocki vowed to make life difficult for the liberal government.
