With U.S. President Donald Trump looming large with tariffs and wanting to make Canada its 51st state, what impact could his actions have on a federal election?

"This isn’t a referendum on Justin Trudeau. This is a potential fist fight with the U.S.," Reggie Cecchini tells The Morning Show.

Trump’s policies that could impact the Canadian economy have become a driving factor as a federal election is expected to be called by this weekend.

While the White House says it doesn’t intervene in foreign elections, that didn’t stop Trump from going on Fox News to make comments on current PM Mark Carney and Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre.
