President Donald Trump has been pushing Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell to lower interest rates and he ramped up the pressure by publicly examining costly renovations the Fed is making during a visit on Thursday. Powell took the rare step to publicly fact-check the president about the project’s price tag and it all played out in front of cameras. NBC’s Christine Romans reports for TODAY.
