Pope Francis has been laid to rest at his favorite basilica in Rome following a public funeral at the Vatican. Huge crowds and dignitaries from around the world turned out to bid farewell to the first Latin American pope. Francis was a champion of the poor who aimed to make the Catholic Church more compassionate.
