From Global News.
A rare winter storm churned across the U.S. Gulf Coast on Tuesday, bringing heavy snow, ice and wind gusts to a region where flurries are unusual, while much of the U.S. remained in a dangerous deep freeze.
Some residents were happy to witness the natural rarity.
“The snow is so soft and it’s stickier than I’d expect, so I think it’s great,” Houston resident Steven Lieng said.
According to Reuters, 10 cm of snow fell overnight in Houston, the most the city has gotten since 1960.
Meanwhile, local Florida media called the storm "historic" as Governor Ron DeSantis declared a State of Emergency in response to the storm.
Tallahassee, Florida’s capital city, was expected to see a low of -15 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.
