From AFP News Agency.
A baby white-handed gibbon, born on 24 July, has become the star attraction at Spay Zoo in Sarthe. It’s the only birth of its kind recorded in France in 2025, according to the zoo’s animal manager, Maxime Thue, who says the species is endangered due to deforestation and poaching. The baby’s sex remains unknown for now and will only be known in a few months, once it begins to separate from its mother.
