From Global News.
As of July 27, there were five times the number of people seeking asylum arriving through the Lacolle border crossing, compared to January.
According to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), nearly 3,000 were processed which was nearly three times the number the previous month.
Those numbers worry those working with refugee claimants. At the Centre D’aide La Traverse, workers say many of the refugees are of Haitian origin, fleeing the United States because of the immigration crackdown happening in the country.
