Most lithium is produced by evaporation of underground brines in places like the Salar De Atacama in Chile. That process not only uses vast quantities of water and land, but it’s also EXTREMELY slow, taking 18 months or longer for the sun to do its work. Direct Lithium Extraction does away with that passive operation and goes after the lithium in a much more proactive way. The result is lithium production in as little as 6 hours.
