Rwanda – Living together after genocide | DW Documentary

From DW Documentary.

In 1994, Rwanda witnessed one of the most brutal genocides in modern history. The Rwandan government mobilized the country’s Hutu population to attack members of the Tutsi minority and anyone who opposed. In just 100 days, around one million people were killed.

30 years after the genocide, Rwandans are trying to move forward. In "reconciliation villages", convicted perpetrators, who have been released from prison, survivors of the genocide and their children live side by side and try to deal with the past.
