Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., says if President Trump fired Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, "it would crash the stock market, and it would crash the bond market, and it would cause interest rates to rise."

#Trump bashed Powell during a bilateral meeting with the crown prince of Bahrain. He told reporters that he was not planning to fire Powell, but later confirmed he spoke with lawmakers about possibly firing the Fed chair.
