Stephen Colbert announced Thursday night that CBS is ending “The Late Show” in 2026. “I’m not being replaced. This is all just going away,” he shared with his audience. Despite an overall decline in late-night ratings, Colbert had the No. 1 show for nine straight seasons. Executives at the network say this was “purely a financial decision.” NBC’s Chloe Melas reports for TODAY.
