Stranded WestJet passengers who faced 55-hour delay fight for compensation

From Global News.

Hundreds of passengers flying from Cancun on Jan. 30 faced repeated delays from WestJet, resulting in more than 55 hours spent at the airport before finally landing in Calgary.

Many passengers, including Michael Bindman, sought compensation, but were denied by the airline, which cited necessary maintenance for safety.

Former Air Canada COO Duncan Dee criticized WestJet for its lack of transparency, while passengers expressed frustration over poor communication and service.

Six weeks later, passengers are still seeking an explanation, an apology, and some are even considering legal action. Global’s Skylar Peters reports.
