“Tariffs up, elbows down”: Poilievre blasts Carney over lack of trade deals

From Global News.

During a press conference in Saskatoon on Thursday, Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre expressed his disappointment over China’s latest tariffs on Canada’s canola, calling them "unfair and unjustified."

"Mark Carney has been so silent and so weak, failing to stand up for our farmers against these tariffs. Meanwhile…Carney, continues to provide a billion-dollar taxpayer-backed loan for BC ferries to buy Chinese-made vessels," he added.

Poilievre railed against the prime minister’s lack of trade deals despite sending delegates to Europe and Mexico, saying it has been "American tariffs up and Liberal elbows down."

Poilievre also announced the Conservatives would be launching a campaign against Carney’s EV mandate, which he claims would "erase many small towns off the map."
