‘That’s no joke’: Fists fly, U.S. anthem booed during Canada-U.S. hockey match

The U.S. beat Canada 3-1 after a punch-filled start that saw three fights within nine seconds to kick off the countries’ electric matchup at the 4 Nations Face-Off in Montreal. Canadian crowds also booed the American anthem once again. Aaron Ettinger, an associate political science professor at Carleton University, says the fights are unusual, and that all-star games are basically ‘love fests.’
