Train derailment in southern Germany leaves at least 3 dead, multiple injured

A regional passenger train derailed in southern Germany Sunday, killing at least three people and seriously injuring several others.

The crash happened near Riedlingen, about 158 kilometres west of Munich.

Investigators are trying to determine if rain was a factor in the crash after storms passed through the area earlier in the day.

It’s unclear how many people were injured, but roughly 100 people were onboard when at least two carriages derailed.
