Trump administration pauses public White House tours

From NPR.

The White House has suspended tours of the building indefinitely as the Trump administration moves ahead with major construction projects — including a massive, new ballroom.

September tours have already been cancelled, and no new requests are being accepted. The administration says renovations include a $200 million 90,000-square-foot ballroom that the president wants to start building in the next six weeks. Officials have not released architectural plans or said exactly where it will be built.
