The Trump administration is rolling out a new “self-deportation” policy that offers a $1,000 stipend and travel assistance for migrants who return to their home country on their own. The Department of Homeland Security says it costs them about $17,000 to deport a single undocumented immigrant. NBC’s Garrett Haake reports for TODAY.
