President Donald Trump said today it’s “highly unlikely” he would fire Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell after reports he was considering the move. But he offered an important caveat: “Unless he has to leave for fraud.” The comment came after multiple reports emerged that Trump had polled lawmakers yesterday on whether or not he should fire the chair.
