President Donald Trump’s new wave of wide-ranging tariffs went into effect at Midnight Thursday morning with American consumers set to feel the impacts. Trump says the country is going to be “very rich,” but one estimate says all the tariffs will cost the average American family around $2,400 this year. NBC’s Christine Romans reports for TODAY.
