Canada’s Liberal leadership candidates faced off on the debate stage for the first time in this campaign on Monday night.

Four hopefuls, Mark Carney, Chrystia Freeland, Karina Gould and Frank Baylis, were trying to make the case for why they should get the party’s top job.

But as Global’s Touria Izri explains, the focus was largely on someone else – U.S. President Donald Trump.
