From DW News.
At least three people have been killed and thousands of homes have been damaged after Typhoon Kajiki battered coastal Vietnam. There are widespread blackouts in several regions after powerful winds downed trees and powerlines. Hundreds of thousands of people were told to evacuate from the hardest-hit areas, while airports and schools were closed. The storm is weakening as it crosses over neighbouring Laos, but heavy rain is still expected there, and in northern Thailand. We spoke to freelance journalist and author of the Vietnam Weekly newsletter Michael Tatarski.
