Footage filmed by the U.S. Air Force on Monday showed personnel onboard a Reserve aircraft dropping ocean buoys ahead of Hurricane Erin.

Officials said the squadron is working with the U.S. Navy and partner agencies to collect data to improve understanding of tropical cyclones.
