Ukraine proposes new round of peace talks with Russia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed a new round of peace talks with Russia on Saturday, saying all efforts should be made to achieve a ceasefire.

Both sides have held two rounds of talks in Istanbul over the past five months. They have agreed to swap prisoners, but have had no breakthroughs in ending almost three and a half years of conflict.

“Everything must be done to achieve a ceasefire,” Zelenskyy said in his evening address to the nation. “The Russian side should stop hiding from decisions.”

There has been no response from Russia, but on Sunday, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Russian President Vladimir Putin is open to peace talks but that Russia insists on achieving its “objectives.”
