In 2021, NASA launched its Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) mission, which aimed to change the course of an asteroid by slamming a spacecraft into it at high speed. The impact occurred in 2022, and we’ve just now got a data analysis of how exactly the crash affected the asteroid. The results are unexpected.
